Speedier justice for injured claimants

The Ministry of Justice's (MOJ) paper was finally published last month in response to the Consultation paper upon Case Track Limits and the process for personal injury claims. Here, Simon Rosser, associate in the personal injury department explains what this means for people seeking claims. "The consultation paper basically invited comments from a spectrum of interested parties with a view to improving claims to anyone unlucky enough to be involved in an accident, speed up the time for being awarded any entitled compensation and generally reduce any unnecessary costs and delays in the process

LAC joins local trade union to back migrant workers rights

LAC is backing a campaign by UNITE, to highlight the plight of thousands of vulnerable workers who are being stripped bare of their rights and exploited by unscrupulous agencies every year in Wales, also supported by The Social Justice Minister, Brian Gibbons. Migrants account for 1% of the Welsh workforce, with more than 16,000 migrants from Eastern Europe registering to work in Wales since May 2004

Lawyers warn against 'sofa rash'

Consumers across Wales could be entitled to compensation if they are aware of the symptoms of contact dermatitis, more commonly known as 'sofa rash'. Leo Abse & Cohen is campaigning to raise awareness of consumers' rights to claim for the pain and suffering caused by the condition, and is urging people to be aware of its symptoms which can include itching, burning, blistering or weeping skin and even breathing difficulties
