Richard Steer

Richard is committed to fighting for all those that have been treated unfairly by their employers.

Richard works from both the Cardiff and Newport Offices. Specialising in Employment Law he regularly represents employees in Employment Tribunals, and also at Employment Appeal Tribunals. Having originally qualified as a Barrister he joined Leo Abse & Cohen in 2003 and obtained his Solicitor-Advocate (All Higher Courts) qualification in 2005. In May 2007 he became an Associate within the firm.

Richard is a keen Trade Union activist, and joined T&GWU Section of UNITE as soon as joining Leo Abse & Cohen. In addition he is himself a Shop Steward within Leo Abse & Cohen.

Richard has a particular interest in Discrimination cases, and also represents employees in all areas of Employmeny law including Unfair Dismissal, TUPE transfers, Redundancy & Wages claims. He provides training to the firms Trade Union clients and has been a Committee Member of SAHCA since 2006
