Unfortunately not all pregnancies go according to plan and errors in monitoring the mother and child both during the pregnancy and labour can have potentially serious consequences. We have vast experience of assisting claimants when things go wrong during the course of pregnancy and childbirth.
We act on behalf of mothers who have been injured to include excessive perineal tears, surgical errors during the course of caesarean sections, bladder injuries sustained as a result of failure to cauterise during deliveries and failure to deal with haemorrhage and other medical emergencies that may arise.
We also have specific expertise in relation to injury sustained by the child during the course of their delivery the most common being birth hypoxia sustained as a result of a failure to
deliver promptly. Other injuries to the child can include scarring during the course of caesarean delivery. Cases can also include matters of cerebral palsy, Erb's palsy, epilepsy
and complications arising out of a forceps delivery.
